I acknowledge the true custodians of the land on which I live and work, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people of the Kulin Nation. I pay my respects to elders past and present, and extend my respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who witness my work. Sovereignty has never been ceded.

As the child of settler migrants in so-called Australia, I acknowledge my continuing privilege as a result of colonisation. As a musician, a significant part of this privilege is simple access to learning and the ease of making cultural work.

For First Nations people, these basic rights have been violently denied since settler arrival in 1788. I acknowledge the incalculable amount of cultural erasure and upheaval caused by genocide; the irreparable damage to generational creative work belonging to the eldest civilisation on Earth.

It is paramount to remember the value and scale of this loss, especially as we create and enjoy art.

Through my platforms, I commit to helping dismantle the systems in place that sustain colonial oppression and erasure.

I will continue humbly learning while respecting, prioritising and supporting the work and lives of the First Peoples of this land.
